At our clinic, we believe that effective treatment starts with understanding the person, not just the symptoms. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, struggling with persistent muscle tension and pain, or simply finding that your body isn’t moving as well as it should, we take the time to understand what is happening, why it may be happening, and how we can help you move forward with confidence.
Your care begins with a thorough assessment and continues to be guided by ongoing reassessment throughout your treatment. Rather than following the same routine for every patient, we adapt each session to your individual presentation, ensuring that every technique we use has a clear clinical purpose and is tailored to your needs.
Your assessment may include movement analysis, muscle strength testing, joint mobility assessment, and orthopaedic testing to help us build a detailed picture of how your body is functioning. We also assess posture, movement patterns and, where clinically appropriate, leg length as part of a wider biomechanical evaluation. Looking at the body as a whole often helps us understand the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms, rather than simply focusing on the area that feels painful.
Muscle testing plays an important role in this process. It helps us assess how different muscle groups are functioning, highlighting muscles that may be working harder than expected alongside those that may benefit from targeted strengthening. This allows us to tailor your treatment and rehabilitation programme to your individual needs, to improve the way your body moves and functions over time.
As your treatment progresses, we draw on a range of hands-on techniques to suit your assessment findings and how your body responds during the session. These may include joint mobilisation to encourage comfortable movement, myofascial release to address restrictions within the soft tissues, trigger point therapy for areas of muscular tension, and techniques that work along recognised fascial lines to support more balanced movement patterns. Where appropriate, we may also incorporate Bowen Therapy, Systematic Kinesiology, Acupuncture and the Emmett Technique into your care. Every treatment is integrated thoughtfully, to provide an approach that is both individual and responsive.
One of the things that makes our approach unique is that assessment doesn’t stop once treatment begins. We are continually reassessing how your muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia feel, and respond throughout the session, allowing us to refine your treatment as your body changes. This ongoing process helps ensure that each appointment remains focused on what is most relevant for you on that day.
Before you leave, we’ll explain what we’ve found, answer any questions you may have, and provide personalised advice to support your progress between appointments. This may include postural guidance, movement education and rehabilitation exercises based on your assessment findings. We see treatment as a partnership, combining hands-on care with practical strategies that help you take an active role in your recovery. Our aim is to help you move more comfortably, build confidence in your body and support your long-term musculoskeletal health.
