Julien Says:
“Ankle sprains, particularly short-term ankle sprains, almost always involve damage to the lateral ligaments. There are three ligaments on the outside of the ankle, and because humans wobble, twist, and roll their ankles, we commonly injure them, causing tears, or lesions, in those ligaments.
The resulting swelling and changes in joint position can lead to all kinds of ankle problems. These injuries tend to respond very well if they’re treated early. If we can see someone within the first few weeks, and certainly within the first couple of months, they can often be turned around relatively simply.”
Steve Says:
“We don’t see as many ankle sprains as we do back pain or neck pain, but they certainly come into the clinic. We often see hard-working tradespeople, farmers, or people who’ve simply gone over on their ankle unexpectedly.
Our approach is always to assess the ankle thoroughly and get to the root cause of what’s going on.
The Activator Protocol is excellent for assessing the small bones within the ankle and identifying exactly which joints may need adjusting.
Acupuncture can also be very effective for pain relief, and we find that K-Laser therapy works extremely well to help reduce inflammation and support the healing process.”
Brad says:
“Ankle sprains can be difficult, just because they normally involve rolling the ankle over and tearing or damaging the ligaments. It’s then about getting you back to walking better. The structures of your foot must be willing to support force as you go through your walking stride. After that, we focus on building the structure back up and rebuilding the confidence to be able to go up and down stairs and then run, if that’s something you want to get back to doing.”
